Drive an hour West from Gretna Green along the coastline of the Solway Firth, through the rolling hills of Dumfries and Galloway and immerse yourself within the vicinity of the Argrennan Manor House Estate. Hidden and understated behind wrought iron gates and obscured by mature trees, for those discerning enough this gem awaits discovery.
Argrennan Manor House has a unique and rich heritage and is a shining example of Scottish culture and history. In the late 15th century it belonged to Robert Cutler of Argrennan who passed it to his son, William Cutler in 1705. The house’s name was changed to Deebank when it was acquired in 1799 by Alexander Gordon and there is evidence to suggest that the house was linked with the local church.
Argrennan Estate is situated on a picturesque stretch of the River Dee for Salmon and Trout fishing. Being at the very bottom of the river the beat often boasts the best annual salmon catches for the river. Ghillie available. Book online for a day pass.
